Polyester monofilament yarns are suitable for textile manufacturing, including knitting, weaving and braiding. Some of the monofilament yarns contain a water soluble spin finish to aid textile processing.

Monofilaments are the most concise and regular fabrics. The single strand threads are capable of exact detail and registration. They also wear well in extended production printing. It is less easy to adhere films and emulsions with monofilaments than with multifilaments, but they are easier to clean and to reclaim and less likely to clog during printing. The surface of the threads is less coarse, or more smooth and polished.

Polyester monofilament is widely used for technical applications from different fields, eg. braided on sanitary draw hose, cold and hot water hose braiding, filter net, clothing belt, fishing nets, textile sleeve, curtain and carpet.Thanks to its particutar characteristics of low or even no humidity absorption that gives to it a very good dimensional stability, resistance to low and high temperatures, and a good abrasion resistance.

Polyester monofilament yarn is used, for example, as braided sleeving for cable protection. These monofilaments can be equipped with anti-rodent or flame-retardant properties.
